What paperwork do I need to start a repatriation?
- Original Death Certificate: This is the most important document and allows us to start the repatriation process ( We keep the original but upon arrival to the final destination your chosen consignee should return this to you )
- Original Passport: This is a form of identification and is required for some paperwork to be processed and for the flight to take place.
- Consignee’s Details: To request a flight for your loved one we must have contact information for the person or company that would be collecting from your requested airport. We must have their full name, address, telephone number and email address.

What is embalming?
Embalming is a process used to preserve and care for a deceased loved one, helping to slow natural changes after passing. This involves using special solutions to maintain the body’s appearance for viewing, visitation, or transportation, ensuring a respectful and dignified farewell.
Do I have to be on the same flight as my loved one when they are repatriated?
If you wish to travel on the same flight, we recommend booking the flights promptly once we have confirmed the flight to you. This will hopefully ensure availability for you to travel on the same flight. However, should you choose not to travel on the same flight, we can arrange for the safe and respectful transportation of your loved one independently.
How long will it take to arrange the flight?
The timeframe from the initial arrangements to the day of the flight can vary based on several factors. At a minimum, one working week is required to complete all necessary paperwork. In certain circumstances, additional time may be needed to finalise all required documentation.
How much does a repatriation cost?
We offer comprehensive packages tailored to meet your needs, with final costs varying based on the destination. Please refer to our packages or search your destination and obtain a detailed cost estimate.
Can I place items with my loved one in their coffin/casket?
While we understand the desire to include sentimental items with your loved one, we advise against placing any items in the coffin or casket to comply with airport security regulations and to prevent any delays or issues. Additionally, floral arrangements cannot be transported with your loved one.
Can I use a Coffin or Casket when repatriating my loved one?
All of our coffins and caskets are suitable for repatriation. Please refer to our coffins & caskets page to view our range. However, we recommend consulting with your destination’s funeral home, cemetery, or crematorium to ensure there are no specific restrictions or requirements for coffins or caskets. If you need any further assistance, we are here to help.
Where do your flights leave from?
As a London-based company, most of our flights depart from London Gatwick or London Heathrow. If you prefer an alternative airport, please inform us, and we will explore the available options for you.
Can I choose which airline to fly with?
We understand that your family may have a preferred airline for the flight. However, due to certain restrictions, your preferred choice may not always be available. Please inform our staff of your airline preference, and we will do our utmost to accommodate your request if possible.
Please note that the airlines we recommend offer competitive pricing and reliable service throughout the process. While alternative options may be available, they could result in higher costs and varying standards.
